Somewhere Close

  • Union Pier Social - upscale bar food and a great patio, just a quarter mile up the road!
  • Tapa Taco (Closed Wednesdays) - everything delicious from South of the Border, just a mile up the road in the Gordon Beach Inn
  • Timothy's (Closed Mondays/Tuesdays) - Asian Inspired Seafood, just south of here on Red Arrow [Takes reservations]
  • Red Arrow Roadhouse (Closed Sundays | Ribnight Mondays in the Winter, go right at 5:00 or go after 7:30) - Traditional American Eats, just north of here on Red Arrow

 

Somewhere Special 

  • Timothy's (Closed Mondays & Tuesdays) - Asian Inspired Seafood, takes reservations, and is right here in Union Pier! [Takes reservations]
  • The Terrace Room - Homemade, rustic Italian fare on the New Buffalo Harbor, takes reservations, and is right on the harbor! [Takes reservations]
  • Brewster's - Deep Italian Roots, but serving a bit of everything delicious. You'll want to make a reservation for summer weekends, for sure! [Takes reservations] 
  • Hummingbird Lounge (Closed Mondays & Tuesdays) - This stylish cocktail lounge and restaurant sits inside an old Victorian Home in downtown New Buffalo. It's super cozy inside, and has a lovely outdoor patio. [Takes reservations]
  • Granor Farm - Exquisite farm-to-table multi-course dining experience. Typically offerings are on the weekends; you must reserve your ticket in advance. [Takes reservations]

 

Somewhere Interesting

  • PostBoy - a delicious, but small menu. Check it out and if it looks good to you, you won't be disappointed! [Takes reservations]
  • Cafe Gulistan - Kurdish food done well (note: this place closes in the off-season, check online before going) [Takes reservations]
  • SideYard - (Closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays) a fun bar in the heart of Sawyer with delicious food and a great patio
  • Out There (Closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays) - a cool bar, music venue, and gift shop concept in an old Shell Station! Food is limited, so stop in for a drink or a snack before dinner.

 

Somewhere Exceptional

  • Houndstooth - One of the better fine dining experiences in the area, Houndstooth is a small space in the downtown Arts District of Benton Harbor, serving great cocktails and exquisite food. [Takes reservations]
  • PostBoy - a delicious, but small menu. Check it out and if it looks good to you, you won't be disappointed! [Takes reservations]

Somewhere Easy

  • Song Asian Cuisine - The authentic tastes of Asia, right here in New Buffalo. Great for dine-in or carryout.
  • SideYard - (Closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays) a fun bar in the heart of Sawyer with delicious food and a great patio. Order at the bar, pick up at the kitchen window.
  • Mario's Pizza - Right here in Union Pier, Mario's makes great pizza, sandwiches and other Italian dishes.
  • Tom Cat Tavern - Not your basic dive bar, Tom Cat serves up good cocktails, great burgers, and cool vibes.

 

Somewhere for Lunch

  • Black Currant Bakehouse (Closed Mondays-Wednesdays) - In the heart of Union Pier, this bakery serves up delicious veggie sandwiches.
  • David's Deli - a cool & casual eatery in downtown New Buffalo known for their reubens
  • Union Pier Social - upscale bar food and a great patio, just a quarter mile up the road!
  • Viola Cafe - (closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays) just the most charming local diner, serving delicious southern breakfast & lunch
  • Stray Dog - A New Buffalo Classic

 

Pizza Delivery

  • Villa Nova - The best tavern pizza in the area, and delivers late! Also a great place to visit if you want to get out of the house.
  • Mario's Pizza - Right here in Union Pier, Mario's makes great pizza, sandwiches and other Italian dishes.

 

Somewhere Open Late

  • The Historian Lounge - open until midnight, kitchen until 10 pm [Takes reservations]
  • Union Pier Social - open until 10 pm, kitchen until 9 pm
  • Stray Dog - open daily until 11 pm

  • Don't forget, Indiana is just 6 miles south, and is on Central time - an hour earlier! Some call it time travel :)

  • Journeyman Distillery - of course they have good cocktails, and many to choose from! [Takes reservations]

 

Somewhere Cozy - Supper Club Vibes

  • Skip's - Hand carved steaks, prime rib, seafood, ribs and more! [Takes reservations]
  • Heston Supper Club - Northwest Indiana's Favorite Supper Club (remember, if you make a reservation, they're on Central Time) [Takes reservations]
  • Grande Mere Inn - Cozy, cottage vibes set atop Covert Ridge in Stevensville pair local dishes (steaks, lake perch, walleye, ribs, and more) with stunning views of Lake Michigan. [Takes reservations]
  • Farina's Supper Club (Closed Tuesdays) - Delectable signature Italian American dishes served in this former Inn in Duneland Beach (note: Farina's is on Central Time) [Takes reservations]

 

Somwhere I Can Eat Outside

  • Beer Church - great brick oven pizza on a year-round patio, with beer brewed in an old church is always a great choice!
  • SideYard - (Closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays) a fun bar in the heart of Sawyer with delicious food and a great patio. Order at the bar, pick up at the kitchen window. [Dog friendly!]
  • Stray Dog - A New Buffalo Classic with an amazing roofdeck open in season
  • Shoreline Brewery (dog friendly) - Worth the drive to Michigan City (Central Time), Shoreline boasts a huge patio, award-winning beers, and delicious food. Plus, check out their summer music series on summer Sundays.
