This March Garden Grove Inn will host a Knitting Weekend.

Join us March 22-24, 2024 to relax, knit, and join in community.

We invite you to join us in Union Pier, Michigan for a fun weekend of knitting and community! We’ll use the weekend to knit a pair of socks, complete with an in-person instructor, Anna S., and all your materials included. We’ll conclude the weekend with a tour of Hoof-to-Hanger, a local fiber mill (from where your yarn was sourced!).

Spend the weekend knitting with others in front of the fire and/or with a glass of wine, or take some time away, cozied up in your comfy room! All levels of experience are welcome. We’ll have a plan b project (super-functional dish cloths!) if the socks prove to be too difficult.

Come alone, or bring a friend. All rooms are priced from $398-$518, depending on the room, for single occupancy. Plan to add $100 for a second occupant, to account for additional knitting materials.

The cost of two nights at the inn for this very special weekend includes…

• Dinner when you arrive Friday night (pizza & salad) to enjoy while Anna walks us through the process of knitting a pair of socks
• All your knitting materials (needles, yarn, etc.)
• Personalized and hands-on instruction all weekend from our experienced knitter!
• Breakfast Saturday & Sunday mornings & snacks/wine on Saturday afternoon
• Finally, to close out the weekend, we’ll take a tour of the Hoof-to-Hanger Fiber Mill in Bridgman, Michigan!

• Knitting intro 7:30 – 9:00 pm ET

Saturday March 23

• Breakfast 9:00 – 10:30 am ET
• Free Time to Knit
• Snacks & Wine 3:00 – 5:00 pm ET

Sunday April 27

• Breakfast 9:00 – 10:30 am ET
• Close out your project, ask any final questions (we’ll send you off with resources & materials to finish your second sock!)
• 12:00-1:00 pm ET Tour of the Fiber Mill & Shopping!

More About Our Teacher, Anna...

Anna taught herself to knit more than 20 years ago and calls it her "therapy". She loves lace knitting, the more complicated the better, but also regularly churns out warm, chunky hats or scarves for Midwest winters. She's got 4 WIPs (Works In Progress) currently hanging out on the needles, and her most recently completed work is a pair of lace fingerless gloves specifically made to take on a trip to Ireland... and then forgotten at home. She lives in Detroit with her husband, 5 year old son, and basement full of yarn.
